FAQ
What material is used to make the Navigator Seats? We only use 316 Stainless Steel for the frame and mechanisms.
What is 316 Stainless Steel? Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, superior to 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels. The molybdenum gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It has excellent forming and welding characteristics. It is readily brake or roll formed into a variety of parts for applications in the industrial, architectural, and transportation fields. Grade 316 also has outstanding welding characteristics. Post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections. It is the only grade of Stainless Steel which is recognised in the marine Industry.
Why don't you use Aluminium? Aliminumim is not a strong enough material for the marine industry, it corrodes and you can't make paint adhere to it.
What material is used to cover the Navigator Seats? You have a choice of Leather, Ultraleather TM or Vinyl. All materials are of marine grade levels.
What are the pedestals made of? Highly polished 316 Stainless Steel

Where are the Navigator products made? Sydney, Australia.
What is the Navigator Compact Crane made of? Both our Navigator Compact Crane and Wharf Crane are made of 316 stainless steel and a fiberglass shroud. We use a synthetic rope for lifting the tender and a hoist.
What is the difference between a hoist and a winch? A hoist is designed to pick items up, such as your tender. Whereas a winch is designed to pull the item (such as a car or tralier) along the ground. A hoist has 2 forms of breaking, one mechanical being the design in the gear box and the other being electrical which is the break motor.
What do I need to consider when installing a crane on my boat?
- What is the maximum weight that it needs to be able to lift?
- Where are you going to place it on the deck of the boat?
- Where can you store the compression post? (usually in a cupboard somewhere)
- How high are the railings that you need to get over?
- What radius do you need?
What is a QuickLift? The Navigator QuickLift was designed to make capturing your tender quick and easy. It allows you to use your crane to place the tender on your boat without having to climb up the side of the boat, before lifiting it out of the water.
Why do you use synthetic rope? Synthetic Rope has a 4.2 ton breaking strain. By using rope, you won't have the problems which you have problems which occur with steel ropes. (such as rusting, splinters or kinks)
What size of boat can I put a TenderLift on? This is dependent on a number of factors. They include: the size and weight of the tender you are lifting, the length of your boat and the shape of your transom. Contact us for further technical information.
What can I use a TenderLift for? Swim platform, for your jetski or tender, diving platform or your own private 'beach'.
